Timothy and Lars

Belgian Timothy fell in love with Norway many years ago, and has been looking for a second home here since 2016. In the summer of 2025, he discovered Veggli Fjellgrend, and almost immediately decided to buy a cabin. Here you can read Timothy's own words about why the choice was so easy.

“In Norway, I truly feel at home”

After many trekking adventures in Sweden and Norway, my youngest son Lars and I discovered that our hearts undeniably belong to Norway. It’s hard to put into words, but every bend in the Norwegian mountains reveals something new: a waterfall, a mirror-like lake, a fjord, or a breathtaking mountain landscape.

“This is where I find complete peace – whether it’s thanks to the endless hiking and cycling opportunities, the pristine lakes, or the sheer variety of landscapes. For us, Norway feels like home.”

Since 2016, I have been actively searching for a second home in this beautiful country. During the summer of 2025, I discovered Veggli Fjellgrend, and the decision was made almost instantly.

What convinced me?

  • High-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  • The fantastic location of Veggli, a perfect starting point for hiking and day trips.
  • Jonny and Vegard's personal and professional approach: they really listened to my wishes and took the time to answer all my questions. It builds trust.

In addition to this, they offer additional services that make a real difference: turf roof maintenance, snow removal, insurance and even the option to purchase a complete furniture package. Everything is handled with complete transparency – a real relief when investing abroad.

Of course, buying a holiday home in Norway is a serious investment, but the benefits are enormous: peace, quiet, adventure, no worries about drought or forest fires, and a unique nature experience. Personally, I will mainly use the cabin with family and friends on vacation, but I also see the potential to rent it out when I am not there – a fantastic bonus.

“The nearby alpine ski areas in Kongsberg and Geilo make the location even more versatile. And anyone who experiences the cross-country ski and hiking trails right at your doorstep will quickly realize how special this region is.”

My advice to anyone considering a second home in Veggli: spend a few days there. Let yourself be enchanted by the Norwegian mountains and discover how spacious and practical the cabins are. Just like Lars and I, you’ll soon feel: this is home.
